Just a quick update on progress so far. Most of the progress has been behind the scenes so outwardly there does not appear to be anything happening.
Reality is we have been very busy upgrading the lighting in the main shed and have now repaired the radiator and cooling system of Black Diamond which is now running.
As a group we have now held our first group AGM and adopted a formal constitution so we can now legally run towards our eventual goal to become an independent charity. We currently run under the umbrella of the Woodhorn Charitable Trust which run the Woodhorn Museum. This will remain in place for the foreseeable future due to them owning the engine shed and some of the stock.
We are now looking into sources for fundraising to allow us to get the track repairs completed. this is the major factor which is preventing the service returning. We need to raise a substantial amount of money (around £500,000) to effect these repairs and get our certificate issued by the rail regulator.
